Description
Colorado. My original idea was to use a lot of modelling clay to create a textured rock-face, but I didn't have enough clay, nor enough time. So I used cardboard to roughly build up the layers and then used sausages of clay. Painted over with acrylics, using a syringe which is becoming a popular tool of mine.Unfortunately the cardboard shows through... far too much. It shows up particularly badly in the above photograph of it, but it's visible enough in real life too. I wish I had the foresight to adapt my technique, this could have easily been surmounted.
Otherwise it was an enjoyable experiment, the clouds were fun to paint and it's the first landscape I've done in years.
