I am a little obsessed with eyes, and even though this picture is pretty hasty and not well rendered, it just captivates me a little more than other such quick drawings. The idea came as a web of notions, namely the following:

A Sytem of a Down Song 'Ariels' where one of the lyrics is 'Stop your eyes from flowing...' I believe.

The notion that the eyes are the window to the soul, your 'pilot of your body' lies behind your eyes

That feelings for love often instill a feeling of wanting to pour myself into that person and be one with them.

These all added up into the creation of this peice. A veil or curtain springs from a reflection in the pupil (window shaped; as in 'window of the soul') and turns to tears outside the eye. I like this because to me it suggests a real feeling of true emotion. Although crying is often associated with sadness, this to me is not a sad picture. For me, it is more the crying dispair of loving someone so much and knowing you will never be able to tell them just how. So your soul leaks out in tears trying to find its way into your partner and become one with each other. A pretty interesting notion I think.
