The two horizontal lines at the top are meant to represent musical staves, and the spiral a treble clef. At the top, shapeless whisps of ink and pencil drift into the staves, which is meant to represent the intangible shapes in the composer's mind taking form. Within and close to the staves, the art is very ordered and neat, music tied into position on paper. But that's not what music really is, music is the subjective sensation of hearing, and the music bubbles out through the trumpet and explodes into seemingly chaotic shapes but still with something fluid holding the form together, before softening softening into a palette of pastel colours and coming to a natural end in a black underline, which looks a touch like piano keys.
