Description After being bought a Manakin for my birthday many years ago; I have been infatuated with it, in a unique way. It holds the essence of the human form, but without any real complexities or features a real person has. I like to imagine it as a person; having a personality almost. One which reflects its physical natures; that is, it is everyone it wants to be. Or rather, anyone I want it to be. But most of all, I like to treat it as an object in its own right. It was therefore ideally suited to another peice of AS Art coursework, a project on still life. Having painted the subject before (See Manakin in Blue; which will be submitted soon) I have gotten to be quite good I feel; at painting the darn thing. Being a little more surrealist and certainly more expressionist than many of my still life contemparies both at school and in the art world; I wanted to add an extra dimension to my work. I did this by tweaking the perspective; and by painting in a fairly loose and exciting method. It is based on a Cezanne style. Although I would like to say this still life is designed to invoke pathos and meaning; I will be honest. It is just a painting of a manakin and some juggling balls. Which I had to do for my art work. I did however, grow to love drawing and painting the manakin; and although it might not hold any special meaning to me in terms of emotional context; it holds dear to me as being a practise for my growing art skills.

I should probably do that, I'm not so good at dealing with pictures on a computer. I guess I rely on people resizing it on-screen.

Nice, I really like your style of painting.

Just one thing, if you make the images smaller (around 800px high) they will look bette, imo.
