Here's (N)Bargello Ginger. I dug around my archives and found this one. It was taken in the middle og August this year. Ginger is a Maine Coon kitten, and on this photo she's 7 weeks old. Hope you like it!

I used to have a Maine Coon named Buttons. She NEVER STOPPED HAVING KITTENS. It was hilarious. she nearly always had them under some piece of furniture in my room.

Well she was an outside cat that we rescued. We didn't have the money to get her fixed and the lady whose cat kept fathering the litters wouldn't get her cat fixed.

Same thing happened with my cats.
Well until the dad's owner claimed them so she could get a quick buck.

I LOVE MAINE COONS!!! They're my favorite breed!!! I own two. One is carmel, brown, black and white, and the other is white and greyish. Both extremely cute and sweet. ^^

I'm from maine and still don't know why they call them maine coon cat,any idea?Love cats/kittens and all your pictures by the way

The origin of the breed (and its name) has several, often fantastic, stories surrounding it. One tale comes from a story that a domestic cat released in the wilds of Maine interbred with a raccoon, resulting in offspring with the Maine Coon's characteristics. Though biologically impossible, this false story, bolstered by the bushy tail and the most common coloring (a raccoon-like brown tabby) could have led to the adoption of the name "Maine Coon." Another story is that the cat was named after a ship's captain named Coon who was responsible for the cat reaching Maine shores, or that the breed sprang from the six pet cats that Marie Antoinette sent to Wiscasset, Maine when she was planning to escape from France during the French Revolution.

I don't understand how these cats are so BEAUTIFUL. The colors are amazing on all of them -- even the orange ones! Usually I find orange cats sort of 'blah.' You take beautiful pictures, but the cats are amazing!
