Description
From the journals of Master Sergeant P.A. "Prin" Wollingsworth*"There’s always one Screen Face to coordinate all of the Recruiters, Seekers and Terriers of a standard “recruitment” column. Some say it’s so they don’t have to make the drones smart enough to potentially challenge to the AI’s.
Personally, I think it’s so they can get first pick of the abductees. [link] [link]
Despite their importance as de facto communication hubs, the Screen Faces tend to be poor combatants.
It always makes sense to kill them first."

How could I forget Nomoko?? :/
Well yes, having her own agenda makes her more of a paralel power to Nomad's force then an ally or a pawn in is "Master Maidification Plan"

Yea, I suppose someone who would yawn and say, "I prefer taller women with bustier figures." wouldn't be the most effective anti-Prin measure.

True.. I wonder if that means that if confronted by Prin Nomoko would have a more of a "Destroy" than "Capture" attitude, since Prin doesn't correspond to her choice of bustier females.

No. Nomoko is far shrewder than most AI's. She'd realize that a maidified Prin would be a very valuable commodity. She likely sell Prin to the highest bidder.
Of course, considering Andrea Masters own personal wealth, it's possible, Nommie could sell her back to AMAZON.
Screen Face 1003: " The Nomoko unit has selected to trade with the aggressive maidifiables? This does not compute."
Nomoko: "Well babe, you did say you 'Would not pay a single unit for that butcher.' I know that means that you expected to get her for free, out of some sense of 'robosponsibility' on my part, but you see that Masters chick is really rich.
And she's my type. "

I'm starting to wonder if the FMP just doesn't declare her too hazardous to handle and totally not even TRY to capture her anymore... I mean, how would Prin react on the battlefield if the swarm of robots literally seemed to fade away from her with every attack... like a school of fish dealing with a larger predator: Some get taken down, but the majority survive...

It would annoy Prin, but I could see command taking the opportunity to take her off the front lines and having her teach tactics to a new generation of Scramble Gown operators. It would make the most of the combat doctrine she's developed and reengage her long neglected teaching chops.

I can't see anyone else being as effective with those gowns as Prin is. But if the FMP can't seem to contain her, I can see them enacting an "avoid at all costs" policy, which would make her less effective in the field simply because the FMP forces won't engage her...

Chaos initially I'd wager, then the tech race begins anew as the FMP finds ways to disrupt the holograms, and the Amazon's keep making new ones....
Oh, and let's not forget the FMP will likely go on a first contact type of policy. They can handle the normal Scramble Gown pilots, but when Prin herself shows up, they'd know from the path of utter destruction, thus can tag her and avoid her. It will lead to some early battle losses, but would still strategically keep Prin isolated while allowing the main force to complete its mission.

Oh no, it won't be silent. Prin would leave one of the AI commanders left. With it's external sensors removed, but it's communication with the rest of the FMP robots still intact. Then she'd start taking bits off one at a time, while letting it communicate this all to the rest of the FMP robots.
She'd abandon it before they arrived, still *mostly* intact...and it's rescuers discover that it's been covered in magnetic anti tank mines.
*BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!*

Then the "lube" turned out to have a special mixture that only works when it comes in contact with female skin. The "lube" would then turn into something like this [link] and then it would emit a distress signal that would alert the nearest Seeker.

But the idea of the robots and drones being given lubrication additives to make even their disabling serve the greater function of maidification is a very good idea.

That would be effective. Of course a sentient goo would probably have a problem being squeezed between the moving parts of a robot. Nanomachines are an overused science fiction catch-all, but they may have an application here.

The "overused catch-all" part is certainly true, what with I mean, somehow it makes Generator Rex's gigantic mech fists/legs/etc. out of nowhere...
It does depend on the author, some of them are very conscious of it's limitations (such as materials).
Who says it has to be sentient, anyhow? And actually, if you put nanomachines in the lubricant, they could potentially perform some repair functions, quite aside from sneaky capture techniques...

we-r-nomad In reply to korblborp [2011-12-30 20:00:06 +0000 UTC]
Yea, in my opinion nanomachines have become the deus ex machina of the hew millennium, much in the same way nuclear radiation was used to explain away the super-powers of pretty much every super-hero who came to be during the cold war years. It's a magic word that exempts characters and story elements from physical law, and your example of Generator Rex's instant mecha fists is a perfect illustration.
That said, your suggestion of the lucricant-nanomachines being used to effect repairs is a good one.

korblborp In reply to we-r-nomad [2012-01-01 05:18:44 +0000 UTC]
Also the "Grey Goo of Doom" fear held by the public.
Again, mainly it depends on the author, mostly it's the "popular culture/mainstream" sci-fi. Serious writers in the field usually do their research (if they aren't actually in the scientific fields that come up), or at least think about things reasonably.
The whole Singularity thing is a bugger to wrap your head around, anyway...
Always assuming nanotech exists in your 'verse, and wasn't 'derailed/skipped tracks' by the Invasion and subsequent events...

I'll have to remember that next time around. (Might make for a good effect. )
For now, let's say it's a throat strike (Or a throat analog strike. ) and the wounds are concealed by the robot's own bulk.
Still, I probably have to come up with a more effective stabbing weapon at some point.
