It's so different that all my other flower shots, you can hardly even recognize it being an orchid, can you?

I just... gah. your pictures are always so close to being wonderful. The focus, in this one. That's the only thing. Sharpen the focus just a touch, and it's good. Very pretty colors, nice sense of atmosphere. A very nice almost.

Thanks for your comment. For this one I think the focus is not important, its to get this effect, because its ment to be moving, the flower is 'dancing'. I'm glad you like the colors and the sense of atmosphere!

That doesn't matter, thanks for the comment. But I saw you added a photo called Belly Dance [link] (July 11th 2005) and here you say 'the main subject is blurry because she's in motion'. Isn't this exactly the same I'm telling about my Walzing Orchid?
No bad feelings. It's just an opinion. I appreciate your comments very much. Maybe you changed your mind about this point of few.

Mn, but you don't get the "feeling" of motion in the Waltzing Orchid, I think that was the point I was trying to make. Not that I do a better job of capturing it in Belly Dance (I don't even come close to what I wanted) but do you understand what I mean? Motion blur is all well and good, it's just hard to capture that sense of motion in it sometimes.

I think its a matter of opinion. When I first saw the picture I called it waltzing, so I got the motion of moving. Also because of the petals of the flower are spreading in a horizontal way, like the shirt of someone who is turning round and round. Normaly the petals of an orchid are vertical.
But I respect your opinion when you say you cannot see the dancing motion in it.
