Description
Whitetail buck in a meadow along the park loop road in Acadia National Park. I had seen him sparring with a spike or fork buck the previous evening, and returned early in the morning to try for some better shots in the morning light. A little after 8:00, a spike buck trotted into the meadow, followed by a forker. They didn't linger, but kept moving into the trees beyond. A few minutes later this fellow strolled into the meadow, the same 9-pointer (I'm pretty sure anyway, antlers look the same) I had seen before. He also made only a brief appearance, but I was able to at least get this shot. Such a handsome fellow.
