This guy is by far my favorite beastie from the Cabrian. It's so sad that we don't have many critters quite like it - lobsters and mantis shrimp and five-eyed terrestrial insects, yeah, but nothin' beats all those paddles!

I did a small series of paintings based on the Burgess Shale critters, but found I couldn't do Opabinia at the time because that thing freaks me right out. XD Five eyed undersea vacuum cleaner, what the... *nightmares*
There is an Opa-esque thing in my comic, though. I just couldn't let it go.
