Description
The White Matrix is big as a mountain. But its white and it cries a lot. It is constantly in pain because it gives birth to Mystery People. It can give birth only during night time, because that is when the Mystery Baddy sleeps.Related content

aww the poor thing looks like it's in so much pain >.<
makes me wonder how something so pure or gentle could bring forth the Mystery people, so dark..
i love how it carries the viewer around the entire piece, i looked over the matrix more than 3 times... hahah
great work

This reminds me of the art of Takashi Murakami. If you haven't yet, you might want to check him out he did an installation called "Superflat" that looks sort of like this to me.

I admit to being guilty of thinking of vector art as being exclusively realism or design-based. It was very refreshing to see your piece and to realize that there still are people who want to break boundaries. That sounds kind of over-the-top passionate, but I always get a deep respect for those people
"I think your really good at getting what's in your mind into your art, even if what's on your mind is completely spontaneuous and you don't know where it's come from"
I'm afraid I don't have the same talents as you...Like most people I always picture everything better looking then when it comes out...I suppose it is a measure of hard work, right?
I like the goofiness of this picture, I like the way you did it (personally I think the mystery people aren't perfect...Perhaps take off the white outlines...That's as far as my critique go.
And lo and behold, I come over here and find the best comment I have ever read. It was simultaneously refreshing to find people who still care about critique. I think critiqueing is a key step to improving your work (I try to force myself to critique if I see something that can be helped, see signature).
+fav. +devwatch. I wish you a long and artistic deviantART career.
?eace.

Thanks, thats what I love in vectors..Its the multidimensional aspects of the medium I think that allows to break boundaries, or at least to try to...
Seems that my lack of skills created a unique style for me, thats just great
yah nothing is perfect when seen individually, but I think the piece works well as a whole.. And it was not deliberate to do saw, it was the first kinda complicated vector piece I did!!!
Thanx for the great comment, looking forward to read more comments on my upcomin pieces..
take care

What a great piece of art! There may be some minor flaws as suggested by HippieKing above but overall it's hard not to appreciate it, even love it. The story tops it off. I haven't looked at the rest of your gallery yet but I hope you've continued it.
A few people have commented on the fractalesqueness of it and I have to agree but even being something of a fractaleer myself I have no clue how they think this could be "turned into" a fractal. It's already what I call a natural fractal - ie a fractal-like image that was not created using a fractal generating program. So it could be an object such a seashell of coastline, the symmetry of creatures and plants etc, it could be drawn, photoed etc. You have done it here without any of the sometimes boring repetition that many fractaleers actually strive for!
Your tentacles and people and stars are all different yet the same. OMG that sounds trite but I can't think of any other way to put it at the moment!
Anyway, it's fantastic, gets my fave and congratulations on the DD...don't worry if you can't answer this message!

You are welcome for the comment! It's my hobby! Lol! Don't worry about flaws or you'll never post anything. So much of commenting (so-called art criticism) is really about nothing more than one person's opinion. On my postings, often completely different ideas are typed. So who knows!?!? Lol!
Now I'll be watching you! (As she adds another to the list! People are always telling her not to do this! And that's why she's days behind - ok, that's not all. Real life in the form of being sick and losing my old hard drive often intervene!)
Take care!

Thank you so much!!!
As I said before, I know it is full of flaws, but sometimes thats what makes it different or original, at least thats what I think.. I have to get down to work and refine it, no t the same piece tho.. Even if I could go back and change some things, I would not do it, I think the magic and naivity would be lost..
Thank you so much for the great comment
take care my friend

Dude, thats is awesome...I'm a big fan of what can be done in vector art and i think there is so much further that it can be pushed....from what i see on the web everyone seems to stick with a very clinical clean style and it all looks the same, but your taking it and throwing that idea out the window and doing something new, which is awesome. I'm trying to learn vector art, but can't get the hang of illustrator and i find flash can be very limiting compared to illustrator...i'm sure there is potential there but i think i'll stick with my pencil for now.
Again, v.impressed

Aww, thanx so much dude.. I am no authority, but take my word for it: Give it a try, start lookin for tutorials, start doin simple stuff, start messin' around with it. I guess its the best way to get the hang of it. Start trying thinkin simple, its not rocket science. Ya knowthe Great Paul Cezanne said that every shape and form in the world is divided- or breaked down better-to promitive shapes. Thats the fundamentals of illustrator as well and to save you sometime go look for tutorials in order to get to learn using the pathfinder in Illustrator. I haven't worked in Flash, but from the art I ve seen , I think it looks too hard on the eye, compared to Illustrator..Maybe its just me again, tho...
Anyway, wish you all the best luck, ya got to try it!!!

I really love this one! It's so offbeat from the usual vectors I come across. This one sticks out from the rest of the pack beautifully. You got quite a creative style and imagination to your works. From the strange monster and also more strange mysterious people, it's fascinating imaginary and I start thinking of all these stories that I could maybe write about it. Only suggestion from me is you could maybe work with more colors on those tentacles to give it more depth. The one tentacle thatβs sticking out on his head in between his eyes looks slightly more blocky then the others one. I would of maybe made it about the same as the other tentacles. Still a great piece though!
