a pretty blond? I dunno.. I would totally dig it if there different variations? hmm werewolf.. how bout brunette & dark to med skin? although this would stigmatized the char to be evil.. and sensual with good, light skinned..

Fantastic process piece, Wen! This is exactly the kind of thing young artists needs to see who would like to aspire to illustration or concept positions. It's really cool to see how professionals change their designs, how they fix things, why they made the changes, etc. Awesomeness!

wonder how long until the posting bug is fixed, this one and the one posted some time after it didn't show up in my messages, but the one before this one and after the two did.

Oh hey thats a GOOD idea the skeleton thing. I might have to try that one myself. My anatomy is always weird. I never knew Freya was a werewolf.... Are we talking about Norse Goddess Freya? Or just a random Freya...

watermelon-kaiye [2009-09-17 09:45:29 +0000 UTC]

WOW. I cannot believe you actually draw the skeleton on top your sketches as a check. You are so incredible and I have huge amounts of respect for you. I absolutely adore your designs!

Are you going to do anymore of these? I know they must take a long time, but they're very interesting. I love seeing the process from beginning/intial sketch to the finish.

I really enjoyed this. Thank you for posting this. It's also very encouraging.

Btw, I really like this character design. ^^

A very interesting process to see! I'd love to see more of these. I may have to try that double-checking-of-skeletal-structure-before-inking thing...

BebitaNani [2009-09-17 05:00:46 +0000 UTC]

Amazing process! It's really inspiring to see an awesome character like this to evolve the way it did. Plus I really love how you used that pink; it's stark as hell but it works nicely enough to not overpower the softer white details on the rest of her costume.
