mmm, havent drawn a monster type character for a long time. this is probably my favorite type of monster. girl + monster.The clouds in the background is a photo.

Just wow. This is such great work. I am a complete lover of your work, and always have been since finding you on DA. I can see that evolution from your early works to now. Itβs rather astounding. And this picture is undeniable evidence of that. When I first saw this I was blown away. I didnβt have enough time to leave a proper comment, and this truly deserves praise. It is so beautiful, I keep going back to it. Where to startβ¦
The girl, which Iβm guessing is Morrigan, has such a great feel. She has both an elegant and wrathful presence in her body language. Her face is pretty and daring. The horns coming off her head give her an interesting silhouette. I love whatβs going on with her hair, thatβs very interesting. The way it changes colors is very gorgeous. Her armor is also quite elegant, if very revealing. The colors you chose work so well together.
That creature is just astounding. Truly. Itβs hard to find proper words to describe it, itβs so beautiful. Again, this screams βrevengeβ, or βwrathβ. Itβs just something you wouldnβt tangle with. The plating is so full of flowing lines and detail. It works as both a natural look, or a manufactured one. That is to say itβs kind of ambiguous, but it really works well, however it is viewed. It reminds me of stone and wood combined, like fossilized trees. He almost is like an oversized bug, with those antennae poking out away from his head. It looks like she is incorporated with the beast, like a demon centaur-like creature. If she is part of it, itβs a great juxtaposition, as she is rather small as a human form, and the beast is quite large. Most of the time, you see a 1/3 ratio of human form to animal from, but this is more like 1/8 ratio. I love that.
The background you painted is so wonderful. Even though the trees are out-of-focus and meant to hold up the negative space, I can tell a lot of work went into painting them. I really like how the background elements fade from focus as they go back. Itβs not overdone, and really helps sell the depth of the picture. Also, the beasts tale in the back helps keep the eye moving around the picture.
I know it works as it is, but is that a photograph of a sky in the background? Obviously, you are a great artist in all sense, so Iβd hate to see you sell yourself short by dropping in a photograph. Thatβs the only thing I have to say could be improved upon, is the sky plate. Even though it might disrupt the focal point of the picture, I think crazy apocalyptic clouds swirling behind her would help better sell the mood. Your figures have such great, beautiful colors, but they are placed in front of a boring, almost gray sky.

hehee, i wanted a simple sky, i wanted to bring her into life, so i didnt want to over due the mood, and i used a photo because my sky painting skills is just not on the same level as my monster designs

Great attention to detail in this piece! Awesome character and creature design! Was this colored in Photoshop? If so you did a very good job with making the your own textures! Something I have yet to learn. Know of any good tutorials I could learn from?

This is a great work. I like the different perspective used. It brings excitement to the piece.
Also, she kind of reminds me how I pictured the Tolkien character, Ungoliant, from the Silmarillion. Except she's prettier and meaner.
