This reminds me of Haku from Spirited Away. If you haven't seen it, Haku is a boy who is able to turn into a dragon, but can't transfer back if he's badly hurt.
Anyway.
This is tragically beautiful. I don't know what message you're trying to represent through this, if any. But I see it as bittersweet. I honestly don't know how to explain the feeling.
