My brother got me the Alien documentary, Memory, and there is a quote that wasn't referring to the Alien prequels, but sums up the Alien prequels "To create is a rebellion against creation." It sums up the prequels because it seems that the characters, Weyland and David try to outdo their creator to create their vision of perfect. We have no idea why the Engineers created us, but Weyland created David because he thought he could play god and make something perfect, then when David resented Weyland that he was created to a servant, he thought he could outdo his creator by creating his vision of perfect, the Xenomorphs, which is only natural since artificial people perceive the Xenomorphs as the perfect organism. Again, the prequels are all about creators and created, and the created trying to outdo the creator, which reigns true to the quote "To create, is a rebellion against creation."
