Personality
+ Honest - It’s hard for Cinderkit to lie, she’s never really had to lie before because she hasn’t respected anyone enough that she would want to avoid hurting their feelings with her words. Her mom lied a lot but she was only around for so long. She did respect Asphodel and Coal but never had any reason to lie to them. It’s just easier to tell the truth, it’s not like it would hurt anyway.
+ Independent - At first, after her injury, Cinderkit did her best to do everything on her own. She didn’t want to be different. She didn’t want her back to break, it just did. She lets other cats help her more after realizing the benefits of boarback rides but she’s guarded around cats she doesn’t know, still trying to do things by herself.
+ Orderly - When you can’t move there isn’t much you can do besides looking around and organizing items. When she was with Coal she often helped the older molly with her herb stores even though she had no idea what anything was called.
= Stubborn - Once her mind is set on something it's hard to get her to change it. Sometimes the adults around her joke about how maybe she should have been named Bullkit instead. She won’t hesitate to fight over her desires and opinions if she believes she’s right.
= Impulsive - There isn’t much to hold her back from things besides her siblings. When she wants to do something, she doesn’t think about it; she just does it.
= Lazy - It would be nice to run around with the other cats and learn normal clan stuff, but, what’s even more fun is using other cats to do the job for you. She considers herself royalty in the clan, using her disability as an excuse to not do things.
- Aloof - She doesn’t care about anyone except for her family and the cats she met in Del’s group. Other cats don’t mean anything to her, they feel like more trouble than they’re worth. She rather keep her distance from others and focus on whatever she wants, not others.
- Destructive - Cinderkit is prone to throwing temper tantrums, not yet understanding her emotions and problems. During these tantrums she destroys everything in her path, holding no regard for who owns what she destroys. It doesn’t matter what belongs to someone else or what isn’t proper. If she’s angry: she’s angry.
- Spiteful - She wants the world to burn for the flames it thrust upon her. She doesn’t believe that other cats hold the capacity for good. It shouldn’t be here. It should all turn to ash like her.
History
KITHOOD
Cinder was born to a rogue named Beau, a very promiscuous molly. Although she had many partners, she never expected to actually have kits through any of them. She had spent so many moons in the nests of other cats already, she assumed that she was infertile. Seeing as this wasn’t the case, she reached out to the last three partners she was with: Tweet, Slipper, and Kennedy – to find them a father. Each cat thought they were the only one she was with and refused to take care of the litter, knowing that they might not really be the father. They never wanted to see her again. Little did they know, the kits belonged to them all. But that didn’t matter, Beau had to support her little rascals all on her own.
So she did. But…four kits? It was just too much. After fighting and fighting with the furballs to “listen to mommy” and “stop hitting your brother” Beau decides to abandon them. They would do a lot better with the cats in the group she encountered before. Who did that cat say led the group again? …Something something…Bell? Del? Whatever, it didn’t matter. She had a mission. She was going to go to this Bell’s Group and have them raise the kits with her former fling, Dirt. They hooked up once so he would believe they’re his, right?
Before she’s able to reach their camp she slips on a rock, falling down a hill and dropping her kits in the process. She makes her way back up the hill but the kits aren’t there. She looks for a while but, no matter where she looks she can’t find them. Eventually she decides to travel to Bell’s group anyway. She may not have the kits anymore but that didn’t mean she couldn’t still have a little bit of fun.
While their mom is away the kits are left to fend for themselves. Luckily, they find an abandoned badger den they can settle into and call home.
A moon passes and Beau goes out with her former fling and new mate of the night from Del’s group, Dirt. She’s enjoying herself now that she’s finally away from the kits, back to her old life. She’s about to ask Dirt if he wants to go back but he hears mewling in the distance and rushes towards the sound.
It turned out that the badger den wasn’t abandoned after all, but how could the kits know that? Dirt saw the badger raise one of its massive shovel paws, its long claws glistening in the moonlight. Before Dirt can save them it smacks Cinder in the back. He was so small no one could hardly hear the crunch of her bones. Although it didn’t break any skin, or draw any blood, that one hit would change the trajectory of Cinder’s life forever. Before the Badger could hurt any more of the kits, Dirt swoops in to save them, slashing across the Badger’s eyes to remove its attention away from the kits. After a long battle Dirt somehow manages to temporarily take down the Badger all by himself.
Panting and covered in blood, Dirt carries the kits back to Beau, who sat by and watched the entire fight take place. With faux shame Beau explains that the kits are hers–theirs, but she lost them on her way to what she finally learned was Del’s group. She tried to look for them. She really did, but she couldn’t find them. She assumed that nature had claimed them by now but, apparently that wasn’t the case.
Dirt is angry with her–no, furious with her and her actions. He tells Beau that they are not his children. They don’t even look like his children. They’re yelling. They’re screaming. They’re so loud that the leader of the group, Asphodel, and his partner, Meadow, hear the commotion and find them. Asphodel doesn’t care about why they were screaming once he sees the helpless and defenseless kittens. It takes little time for the leader to bring the kits back to their group. They spend most of their days with the group’s healer, Coal and in the leader’s paws. Meadow is wary of the kittens due to a new illness spreading around and a lack of prey in the area. It would be hard to feed them if they stayed and, who knew if they’d even make it to adulthood. After much discussion she and Asphodel came to the conclusion that there was no way they could take care of these kits with the way things were in the group. But, they knew a clan that could.
