It has come time to balance my rainbow brights with some of the dark undercurrent that fuels my creativity and actions in the world.

I've dreamt of this wave. I've stood at the shore and watched it powerfully push to land. I greeted its depths with open-hearted courage and let it swallow me. Inside I found peace.

I was also visited by my grandmother in a dream, she told me "The Water Is Coming" - if you've had a dream visit, you know what I mean- it was so tangible, her voice, she was WITH me!

A few times a year I turn on Learn to Swim, by TOOL, and I am completely consumed with deep resonance, deep discouragement, and a lack of hope for humanity.

While our media is completely tied up in the 'bullshit three ring, circus side-show' mother nature continues to take the brunt of our actions and inactions.

She has adapted to us and given us warnings, and we had time to adjust, to change, to reflect, to innovate.

Did you know in 2023 we passed the 1.5 C global tipping point? So, if you think weather has been stranger, stronger, and less predictable- you're right - and we're in for the long haul.

I used to fear dying of a natural disaster. Last year, I shed that fear while walking in a thunderstorm. I realized to be returned to nature, by nature, is actually quite a splendid potential - especially as I watch parkinsons and dementia consume the body and mind of my father-in-law, and see cancer chip away at my friend who has less than a year left.

In ways I see how these dream of the wave has brought me to radical acceptance about our climate. Acceptance is a bit much, as I actually struggle quite often to see our beautiful world in disarray and decay. But, it is not acceptance of our destruction, it is an acceptance of existing in this time, which opens potential for action.

The world we have inherited and collectively contributed to destroying still holds so much potential.

Darkness is temporary, a part of a great natural cycle. May it bring forth great innovation. May it open our hearts so we may see each other in a light of respect and we may bring that love back to our world. May we all heal together.
