right now that is where i am weakest, which means i have to practice more i have been busy painting so i havent had time to sketch, though it will benefit me if i could find time... so i will MAKE time
i find it takes work to remain adept in art, just like anything worth while. acrylics are fun, but i cant wait to get my tablet back. until then there is my painting and sketching. like you i love to draw things out traditionally before i color them digitally. say, do you use the "kill-white" filter when you get a pic ready for inking? i am sure you have people that do that for you too since you are pro, but i am sure you do something with your own art, so i am curious of the process

no filters to get art ready, i use a slight levels adjustment layer and burn and dodge to clean after that to prep the lines.

levels adjustment layer? interesting could you verify for me what you mean? i have never used them... or i think i could youtube it if i need to. with the dodge and burn tools i find that it burns the entire pic along with the white background.. i am guessing that is what the adjustment layers are for?

you're using burn on the wrong setting, then. you need to use it on shadows, not highlights or midtones. and there are a range of adjustment layer types.
