Now, Knox had heard about the strange beast in the woods. It seemed too wild to control, but its victims ended up...changed. Why not exploit that for his own benefit? So Knox went out looking for the beast, and after some searching, he found it. All he needed to do was get it to attack, so he did what any sensible power seeking manic would and stepped out into the thing's path and shot lightning breath at it.
