If they ever try to make a Captain Harlock live action movie, I WANT Matthew Gray Gubler to play the lead role!

It started as a joke. I used to think that Reid's haircut in Criminal Minds season 4 looked a lot like Harlock's. Then I noticed how well he would fit the role: the Captain has to be tall and skinny, after all. So I thought "how about giving Matthew an eyepatch and a scar, just to see how he looks?" That's the result.

**I used a Reid photo as reference for the pose, but obviously had to imagine his clothes, so whatever flaw you'll find in shading is totally my fault. As I said before, my imagination is not hyperrealistic.

The messy Arcadia sketch on the background is taken from a book I've been keeping for -uh- 33 years. Didn't really have time to draw the damn starship better than that, sorry.

HB mechanical pencil for lighter shadows and bg, 3B pencil, charcoal pencil for deeper shadows. 'Cause it works.
