------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Team: N/A

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nature / Characteristic: Relaxed / Somewhat Stubborn

Personality:

the first thing that strikes you about Cherry is her over all relax fun loving attitude. Facing life with a smile and a laugh she prefers  to be optimistic rather than downhearted. Even when things seem hopeless. She's not afraid to laugh at her own mistakes, and tease others for their own mishap, finding it better to enjoy life rather than take it too seriously unless it's life threatening. She's someone who lives in the moment rather than looking back. So, if someone insults her one day, she'll just end up forgiving them quickly and everything will be fine the next day. She someone who forgives quickly and moves on. She's a confident person, she likes herself and this allows her to be able to take care of herself most of the time: to be independent. This confidence makes her a bit sassy sometimes and a flirt when shes teasing or talking to people. She likes showering people with compliments just to see their reactions, or if they need some cheering up making her surprisingly a observant person. She's also pretty smart and clever with her words. In short, shes a smooth talker and is very good at getting what she wants if she ever wants something or is trying to get a person out of their shell. She rarely takes advantage of people unless they deserve it though... or she just wants a free drink. She good at keeping her anger in check too when shes frustrated or angry, and usually the one who sees both side of an argument, being the neutral party.

That being said, it's rare not to see a smile on Cherry face but this is because she's someone who mostly hides all her pain, suffering and sadness. She bottles it up, preferring to let it stew inside of her and ultimately ignore it. It's also one of the reasons why she forgives and forgets so easily. This unhealthy way to deal with her emotions does have it consequences and usually comes out when the bottle breaks when she is deeply hurt/at the end of her rope or in small bursts. Such as lashing out when she's completely lost it, or when she's holding back her frustration she might slam her hand too hard on the counter. Unfortunately if someone asks her if she's okay, she'll mostly likely say she's fine. She's someone who doesn't like people being worried over her, and has a complex about people helping her when she's in emotional distress or if she doesn't ask for help. After the bottle breaks, she'll usually feel guilty for being mean/upset and go into a slump, not taking care of herself properly. Eventually she can recuperate and get back on her feet on her own facing her mistake or problem, but it takes a bit of time, usually disappearing for a couple of days. If she can't get back on her feet by herself, that's when she'll reluctantly except someone help to help  her feel better. But even then, she'll be stubborn to even come to that conclusion and mostly likely will need someone to persuade her to relent about her feelings.

Home Island: Emerald Island
Hometown: Emerald Port

History:

Cherry parents were young when they fell in love. Her father, Nathaniel, was a traveler having been almost everywhere around the Ingenious Region, while her mother, Clementine, was from a successful family trading business having lived in one place all her life. Her mother, wanting to try and pursue her own life path, decided to flirt with Nathan, which he didn't mind, finding her intriguing. The two were inseparable and eventually married. Clementine own parents allowing this as long as she took over the business. She agreed seeing as she did get what she wanted anyway in the end. She got to choose who she married after all, her parents didn't decide that for her at least.

Unfortunately when the two started living together it became obvious that they really had nothing in common. Along with Clem changing into a more serious person from taking over the business and having more responsibility, a change in her Nathan didn't really like,  fights eventually broke out. They thought the only way to save their marriage was to have a child just to prove to themselves that they still loved one another. So they had Cherry, but the fights didn't stop.

By the time Cherry was two Nathaniel and Clem got a divorce agreeing that Cherry would live with Clementine during the week, and she get to see her father over the weekends for a couple of hours. It made sense since Cherry was more financially stable than Nathaniel who was only a traveler. Before living with her, Nathan could barely feed himself. Nathan wanted the best for their daughter and agreed to the standards a bit reluctantly. At least they could both agree on something.

So, growing up Cherry had a silver spoon in her mouth. Everything she ever wanted or needed was at her finger tips, and although her mother was busy, she did try and spend as much time with her as she could. If her mother  wasn't around the maids would play with her in the mansion. She was funny and popular at school. Plus she always got to spend time with her father on the weekends.  Thinking back, everything was done for her, and she didn't question it too much growing until she reached the age of ten. There was an accident, and thats when Cherry recalled that things... weren't really happy and fun anymore.

She was coming home from school, it was a normal day. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary until a Mightyena attacked her. The neighbors dog was known to be a bit territoral around it's home. It seemed like it's owner had accidentally let go of the dogs leash, and Cherry was the closes in it's territory. People knew the dog was a bit territorial, but no one would ever think it would attack anyone.

After the owner got the dog off her, and one of the maids running out to see she was okay, Cherry was rushed to the hospital. Her mother came an hour later, her father a couple of days later after hearing the news. Fortunately Cherry was given a vaccination shot recently before the incident. Just a precaution if something were to happen, her mother thought it wouldn't actually happen. The only really damaging thing was she'd have some scars and her left eye would be blind for the rest of her life. Thankfully her right eye was fine. Although emotionally scarring for Cherry, developing a fear for Mightyena's and Poochyena's, she insisted that she was fine and that the good news was she still had an eye. She was trying to reassure herself but it was for her mother. For the incident was ten times more scarring for Clementine.

After the incident Cherry mother became incredibly strict. Cherry would now be homed school, wouldn't allowed to see her friends, and have no contact mostly outside. She be kept inside where things were safe, where she'd be okay. Even at the age of ten Cherry was shocked and tried to argue with her mother. But her mother wouldn't hear of it, and Cherry let it go, holding her tongue and bottling up her frustration with her mothers ridiculous rules. Nathan tried to persuade Clementine that the idea was ridiculous too, but she wouldn't hear of it. Nothing could be done.

Along with the stricter household rules, it seemed like the maids and her mother helped her with everything, for some reason seeing that she couldn't do things herself anymore. Like doing her hw, setting up her blocks, or even making her own breakfast. It drove Cherry nuts, but her mother wouldn't even hear to any of her complains, saying this was the best for her. This continued until she was sixteen, and over the years if she could she push away the maids and her mother to do something on her own. A complex forming that she just wanted to prove she could be independent. That she didn't need all this help

At this time, Cherry decided that her mothers policies would never change, and began sneaking out of the house when she could since it was getting all too much. Not only was Clementine enforcing tighter house rules, but she began pushing Cherry to learn the in's and out's of the family business. This meant taking extra lessons after her school lessons. Extra lessons on math, literature, language, and business. She expected Cherry to take her place as the boss in the family business.... which of course Cherry didn't want. The absol wanted to go into music, finding she actually had a talent for singing along with playing guitar when she had the time. She like the idea of writing and singing her own songs, and playing in the streets. Even though she wouldn't get a lot of money doing that she knew it would make her happy. But again.. her mother wouldn't hear of it.

So life continued, and Cherry kept sneaking out. The absol was a clever and smart a person she was able to avoid the maids and her mother. Sneaking out of windows, or "technically" telling the truth of where she was going to be. She didn't get caught for the longest time. That was until she was eighteen when a maid caught her sneaking out of the window at 3 a.m. in the morning. A maid caught her when she was going to the kitchen for a little late night snack.

When the maid got back to her mother, she was furious even to leave work that very day to yell at Cherry. Her mother was furious, and screamed at her of how she was disobeying her. How she provided everything to her and this was how she thanked her??? Finally Cherry exploded on her mom tired of feeling trapped in her own home. She screamed at her, telling her she didn't want to take over the business, how she wanted to be a musician, and that she hated her, which really hit a core with Clem. The two argued throughout the rest of the day into the night. By the time it was morning both woman were exhausted, and didn't want to see one another, refusing to even be in the same room.

Because of the argument Cherry's home school assignments started piling up, and she scraped by with passing grades her last year of school. She refused to tell her friends what was going on with her, and her father insisting she was fine, that she didn't need any help, and to stop suggesting therapy to her, she was okay. After turning eighteen she asked her father if she could permanently stay with him, since she was now an official adult.  He agreed worried. He tried asking Clem again what was going on before they had left, but she wouldn't budge either. She just told Nathan to take her.

So the two moved into the small apartment he had just outside of Gratitude Bluff. When they got their her father refused to let the issue go, seeing that Cherry wasn't getting over this. He was calm and patient and gave her the space when she needed it. But he pointed out to her that she was starting to loose weight and she looked like she hadn't slept in a millennium. Seeing that her father was right, she reluctantly told him what was wrong after a couple more days of brooding. He told her how her and her mother got into the argument, how she felt like she wasn't being listened too, and all the awful things she said to Clementine.

Her father understood, her mother was... sometimes hard to persuade when she set her mind on something. He suggested why don't they travel a bit. Cherry was hesitant to agree to this. Although she hid away from her problems she wasn't one to run away from them. She knew she needed to fix things with her mother, but her father insisted why don't they travel first. It was obvious her and her mother needed space from one another. They've been clump together under the same roof for so long that arguments happen because of that. Believe him he knows.

Cherry laughed, and decided to go with it. So that's how things went for a couple of years. They traveled to almost every island in the region. Her father showing her his favorite spots and Cherry observing her surroundings. She made so many friends and acquaintances on the way and her father really enjoyed actually spending long amounts of time with her too instead of just on the weekends for a couple of hours. The two grew really closed, and discovered that they had a lot more in common than they both thought. They both liked the same food, had the same perspective on life, said sometimes the same things, it was really amazing. To this day Cherry will tell you that her father is her best friend and immensely happy that he's still in her life.

Before Cherry and Nathan even knew it years of traveling had gone by and Cherry was now twenty-two. When they were talking about how time flew, while taking a tour at Ruby Canyon, Cherry realized that it was time to go home. She needed to confront her mother and talk to her, this time talk, and not yell. Her father understood seeing that it has been a long time... and agreed it was probably too long of a time. He'd wait for her at the village just outside of Gratitude Bluff when she was ready to come back to that home.

They both went their separate ways when they arrived at Emerald Island, and a couple of days later Cherry was back home. She smiled seeing that nothing had really changed in Emerald Port. Just as she was heading home, the earth started to rumble and the sky started thunder and rain.

    The disaster was happening.

Before Cherry could even process that one minute everything was fine and the next it seems she was caught in destruction and chaos she was tackled pushed out of the way from a lightening. Looking back, at the time, Cherry had no idea how her mother showed up there. Later, when she met back up with her father after the disaster, he would tell her that her mother probably used her Future Sight, a move an espeon could learn. At the time, Cherry didn't question it glad she was just there. The woman had saved her life and continued saving it through the whole disaster.

She took her by the arm and started dragging her back to the house. They could hide in the basement, they could be safe. They had gotten into the house... but unfortunately not fast enough to the basement.

Another earthquake happened when they entered the building. The earth shook, and her mother making a quick panicked decision pushed her outside into the yard through the back door. The last thing cherry saw was the house crumbling to the ground, her mother still inside, before a chunk of rubble hit Cherry head passing out.

The next thing she remembered was waking up in a tent. Her arm in a sling and a medic wrapping her head. He told her she was lucky to be alive and although she had a broken arm, concussion, and some nasty bruises and scratches she be alright. Thankful the rest of the disaster didn't effect the area where her and where her mother were.

After hearing that and getting her bearings Cherry asked where her mother was. Cherry had to describe what she looked like and the medic who only gave her a pitied look, he knew who she was. Her mother was the person the rescue team had to dig out under the rebel of what was left from their house. But she had taken a lot of damage and was in intensive care; barely holding on. She was asking for Cherry. The medic just didn't know that she was the specific person that Clem wanted. Cherry had to get her bearings and when the medic was all down taking care of her, she went to her mother.

When she found her her, she was awake, she seemed hurt... but happy to see her daughter, relieved too. The two talked, the talk they needed to have. Clem apologized to her saying that it was wrong for her to push her wants and dreams on her.... and to trap her in the house. While Cherry apologized for not being more understanding... and more honest. Sorry that she had lied all this time. But Clem shook her head, saying she understood, she was too strict. But she was only strict because she cared... and loved her. Cherry loved her too and understood... she forgave her too.

The absol stayed with her mother for the rest of the day and night, her mother passed the next morning. Although hurting badly, Cherry knew she needed to start moving right away... she had to find out if her father was alright. She only shed a tear, swallowed her sadness and packed the essentials she needed. After asking the medics to help her pack she thanked them as she started traveling. They warned her to wait a couple of days, she was still healing after all, but she needed to go, to her, this was an emergency after all.

Because of the disaster it took longer for Cherry to travel to the small village outside of Gratitude Bluff. She was weary of her surroundings having to take many detours avoiding areas that seemed... suspicious to her. Thanks to her years of traveling she new what was safe and wasn't, later finding out those suspicious paths she avoided would later be called dungeons. When she got to the village, she found her father immediately. Relieved and glad he was there she ended up crying her eyes out about her mom and the relief that he was alive. The one time in her life she can remember she was was so quick in wanting help to feel better about this whole horrible disaster.

It turns out her father survived the event by hiding in the basement of his small home. Although he knew she was hurt he also insisted to Cherry, after a couple of days of rest, that they move out to a village right outside of Everstone. His brother lived there, and they could stay there for the time being until they both got back on their feet. It was important to probably be with family after all... plus it be nice to catch up, he hadn't seen his brother in years.

Again, Cherry agreed intrigued to meet more of her dads side of the family. So, after a couple of days of rest and gathering supplies they moved out to the village outside Everstone, being cautious of their surroundings. It was a three week trip, but eventually they reached her father's brother's home. Her uncle gave them a warm welcome, happy to meet Cherry and excited to introduce her to his wife and kids.

A couple of weeks later Cherry picked up work to help her father save money. They wanted to get an apartment near her uncle and not stay too long at her father's brother's house being a burden. So, it was the same thing everyday: she got up, went to work, came home, had dinner, and then went to sleep. She began getting tired of the routine, wanting something new in her life. She had been eyeing the guild for a while.

Everstone guild was one of the best guilds around, and there always seemed like there was something new going on there whenever she was in town getting food. Perhaps she could join not just for adventure, but to help people in need and earn money. By earning money too she could help her father pay for the expenses on the apartment they finally just moved into.

When she brought up the idea with her dad, it sounded like she had already made up her mind and was just telling him that this was what she wanted to do. Her father was worried at first, but knew he couldn't stop his daughter, she did what she wanted after all. He just told her to be careful and visit as much as she could. She nodded laughing that he worried too much and that she be okay, leaving that very same day heading for the guild.
