Makenzie looked at her reflection with a smirk. She hadn't found a proper tuxedo her own size, but she'd managed a very convincing look. No one ever said girls had to wear dresses to the summer ball, and she thought it might be fun to dress in a tux. Suddenly, a clattering sound drew her attention away, and she turned to see that her kitten, Tundra, had knocked her necklace off the dresser onto the floor. Shaking her head, she picked the feline up, setting her on the bed. "You silly girl," she scolded. "That's not for you."

Reaching back down, she picked up the necklace, her smile fading slightly. She'd had the bauble for years, after begging her mother for a necklace like Nea's. It mirrored her stepsister's exactly, save for the colors. Looking at it made her think of how Nea had agreed to be Thackary's date tonight. She couldn't help but worry that something would happen. After all, Thackary hadn't known Nea as long as she had. He didn't know what could set her off. She looked back to Tundra. "What do you think, girl?" she asked. "Am I just being paranoid?"

The kitten rolled on her side and mewed, making Kenzie smile. "Maybe you're right," she said. "I just don't want her to get hurt." She glanced back at the mirror, reaching up and putting on the necklace. She looked over her reflection again. "I guess it's better I don't have a date to this thing, Tunny," she admitted. "What guy would want to dance with a girl in a tux? Hmm. Maybe I can steal a dance with Nea. Wouldn't that be a sight?" The kitten mewed again, and Kenzie smiled, grabbing her things and heading out.

So here's Kenzie's outfit for the Summer Ball. She opted out of wearing a dress just for fun. If it's okay, I'd love to enter her for Best Tux, just for giggles.
