Description
An adder stone is a type of stone, usually glassy, with a naturally occurring hole through it. Such stones, which usually consist of flint, have been discovered by archaeologists in both Britain and Egypt. Commonly, they are found in Northern Germany at the coasts of the North and Baltic Seas. This one turned up in a bucket of rocks that my wife won at a recent auction. To me, it looks like the infant born of the marriage of two of Henry Moore's sculptures.
4" X 6", sketched with a 6H Venus drawing pencil, outlines inked with a cold gray Copic Multiliner 0.03 pen, and colored with Prismacolor pencils on a card of Strathmore Bristol.
