Description In this 3D Studio Max project I created my first dragon rendering. It was a very enjoyable accomplishment. Organic forms are much more challenging then Euclidian forms in my opinion. On the dragon itself I started with basic Primitives for the initial shapes then converted them into Editable Polygons and modified them mostly using Vertices. Each part was created from scratch and modified mostly in that manner. I applied a number of Modifiers such as Smooth, Mesh Smooth, Turbo Smooth, Bend, Twist, Mirror, Symmetry, Extrude, etc. Within each of the specific Modifiers I adjusted or specified parameters to suit the final outcome that I wanted to achieve. I also made use of many effects in the Material Editor most of which are custom such as Architectural, Fall Off, Multi Sub Object, Indirect Illumination, Transparency, Shininess, Reflection, Refraction, Luminosity, etc. I edited just about every parameter to get the effects of the final materials that I wanted on the final renderings. For the lighting I used a Direct Spot and gave it Volume Light with Fog and changed the Attenuation settings, Noise settings & density to give the dungeon environment a misty gloomy appeal. The final touches were adjusting the Direct Spot Lights Shadow Parameters and other subtle settings.

So I hope everyone likes my first dragon rendering. I will throw a little joke/riddle in here. β€œWhat could ever be worse then an angry dragon?” ANSWER: A Genetically Engineered angry dragon.
