Everyday, with defenses down, he extends his hand in the hope that I will someday trust it.I want to believe the words his soft voice tells me...I want to let his gentle hands soothe me...I want to trust the promises those beautiful eyes tell me.
Still, like most with wounds still open, I find myself wondering that a rose so beautiful might have a horrible set of thorns...
And yet, deep inside, I know that to touch something so beautiful, if only for a moment, would be well worth the risk.

Sometimes I like to go through the galleries of some of my favorite artists to admire their work.

EEEEEE. The picture is wonderfully emotional and the description almost made me cry. (Damn hormones.) The fear on your fae is apparent, but the desire to trust is there in the eyes. The body language from both figures is great. It's a gorgeous pic and I can really relate to it.
