Animal testing has been going on for years. It has been going on for years, and with no law against it. Animal testing, which at times ends up with the mass killing of animals, is legal. Completely, and utterly legal.
Though laws have been set to ensure the animals feel no pain, not all labs follow these laws. Sometimes, labs will even go as far as to open up an animal without using anything at all to numb the pain the animal is sure to be feeling. In other words, they give the animal surgery while they are AWAKE, and without ANY painkillers. How much sicker can you get?
So, how do you solve the problem? Simple, you get rid of it all together. There are other options in this modern day, options that will produce the same effects. If you are against inhumane animal testing as well, *put this in your DA journal. (Use :thumb83120002: )

I don't get it if they want to test on animals why don't they test on themselves? I mean its for HUMANS NOT FOR OTHER ANIMALS, some medications and other things have different effects on animals then on humans.

Let's see a non-human animal which is different from humans physically and biologicly. If a human has a disease or physical condition, why not test it on them. If I had cancer, heart disease, AIDS, etc. I would rather be tested since it is going to help not just me but others with the same inflictions. Animal test are simply unreliable indicators, as the biology of each species varies greatly. (Case in point: Thalidomide tested safe in animals, but caused horrendous birth defects in children. Diet phenom "fen-phen" test safe in animals, but caused heart abnormalities in humans. Arthritis drug Opren tested safe in animals but killed humans!)

You arseholes can go on about testing on slaves and animals can save our lives, but is that the point?
Its fine, sort of if the testing goes fine, but if not, thats a life gone, animal or human! See my point people??

I hate animal testing supporters who use the excuse that some medicines are tested on animals. Damn, a lot of medicines were also tested on slaves. But that doesn't justify slave testing. Forcing any living person or animal into a test is just sadistic and cruel. What kind of sick person came up with the idea anyway?

Testing with humans can not just causing biologic problems than mental problems. Yes, some medicines was used to be tested in slaves. In the Second World War, but nobody said that was a cool thing. Testing in animals are REALLY necessary. Without them, we wouldn't have a lot of medicines and vaccines to cure terrible desires. Humans and animals desires.
If is so sick and sadistic animal testing, why you don't volunteer to be a test subject?

Dozens of rapists and pedophiles are rotting in prisons, and testing on animals is the only solution.

Without slave testing we also wouldn't have most medicines we have today. It's no excuse.
If you want those medicines so badly, why don't you test it on yourself?

You know nothing about animal testing.
"Though laws have been set to ensure the animals feel no pain, not all labs follow these laws".
Actually Most if not all follow these laws.
"Sometimes, labs will even go as far as to open up an animal without using anything at all to numb the pain the animal is sure to be feeling".
That is a bunch of bullshit. The animals ARE givien anesthesics.
"So, how do you solve the problem? Simple, you get rid of it all together. There are other options in this modern day, options that will produce the same effects".
Researchers DO use these options THEY HAVE TO IT IS THE LAW!!! They only use animals when neccessary.
Without animal testing we would not have vaccines, insulin, and A LOT of modern medicine.
You know next to NOTHING about animal testing. LEARN ABOUT ANIMAL TESTING BEFORE YOU OPPOSE IT!!!!

Not only does it have moral problems, but it's not the smartest way to go about it. I mean, if you're testing something that's intended for a specific animal (like a dog, or a lion), that's different; but if you're testing for something intended for humans, then testing it on anything other than humans is stupid. People have no idea how many products have been taken off the shelves 'cause they were proven too hazardous for humans, but were put on the shelves in the first place solely because the animal subjects didn't react to the stuff :/ It's annoying and idiotic...

my mom supports animal testing. she's always like "humans are more important than animals. if testing cosmetics on them keeps someone from getting a rash, it was worth it." it makes me want to smack her upside the head. i'm like bitch, if you want to wear the makeup, test it yourself. i don't even wear makeup for reasons such as this. :I

The most stupid part of animal testing is that it kills thousands of people every year. This year again many children in my country have died because the government thinks that the money-saving-animal-testing is more important than the other test methods that don't put lives at risk.
What people say about "animal testing saves lives" is very misguiding.

This is quickly why I think you're right.
1. Responsibly ending animal testing will not impede medical advancements.
2. Medicines tested successfully on animals can prove toxic to humans
3. Animal responses to tests can be different than human responses

Well...what about medical testing? I'm sure you feel this way, but I don't think you can speak for the billions of people out there who need medical treatment. It's a very terrible thing, animal testing, but it's very necessary, and that's a fact. Unfortunate, but true.

True, but then they find that the test results in animals do not match up with the human results. So, the animals were wasted. It's sad; and yet, I have to agree with you... I don't want to be sick either. I do feel there is a way and animal testing can be stopped.

Animal testing is sick.
Have you heard of Charles River Laboratories? Read what they did in my journal if you want to know.
That thing you said about not giving the animals painkillers is just awful.
No one thinks about what the animals feel.
Everyone just thinks they are inferior and so they dont have feelings.
Its wrong.
Your stamp is beautiful.
