Description Here in the marshes of Cuba, we find a Cuban crocodile and her nest. Despite living in freshwater areas, Cuban crocodiles are the most terrestrial of extant crocodiles, due to their long and strong legs. They are also the rarest crocodilians in the Caribbean Sea, being listed as critically endangered. Like other crocodiles, Cuban crocodiles are caring parents, carrying the young in their mouths after hatching. The breeding season of the Cuban crocodile occurs between the months of May and July.
