Though Nuka and Alama became attention seekers due to circumstances, the same could not be said for Nunka. In fact, it seemed he'd been born to be in the spotlight, and Alama's spoiling of her cubs certainly didn't help. Even at such a young age, Nunka loved to show off to the others, always putting on a show or boasting about something he'd done, even making it a bit more grandiose, just like his father had. Nunka wasn't necessarily the most handsome cub-in fact his sister liked to joke about how dirty and scruffy he was-but he was never really put down by his appearance. Among the cubs, he was known as a bit of a show off, and they all liked to complain about his behavior, however Nunka was only interested in himself. Well, not entirely, but mostly. Being in the main friend group of cubs, he grew a fondness for Binah, and he often teased her the most or showed off around her more often. Binah never seemed to take the bait, but that didn't stop Nunka from trying to impress her.

As the cubs began to grow just the slightest, Nunka's ego also seemed to grow, and after listening to stories from his mother about just how handsome their father was, Nunka was sure he'd grow into a handsome young lion, even if his sister said otherwise. He soon realized that his attachment to Binah was a crush of sorts, and he continued to try and impress her, even though she always threw a joke at him instead. After each rejection, he often became dejected, and though his sister always teased and made fun of him, she was often the one to comfort him. Though they'd argue and disagree, the two siblings were inseparable, and remained each other's best friends. When Kovu's betrayal came to light, the friend group became shaken up, and his aunts Chakavu and Vitani suggested he take a step back from Binah. Though at first he was stubborn to continue his advances, they eventually set him straight, and soon his crush began to diminish.
