Description
Composite image using 6 still frames extracted from a video. My one mistake in filming was that I forgot to turn off automatic white balance. The camera saw the Sun orange through the solar filter, and the automatic white balance tried to compensate for that. When the filter was removed for totality, it was exposed to the white corona while still white balanced for the orange Sun, thus turning the white corona blue. The blue fringe on the left side of the Moon was caused the light from the chromosphere spilling over onto the Moon due to the images I used being from the very beginning of totality. While far better results can easily be found elsewhere, the people posting them tend to have been at this game for years, if not decades. Considering I only got into astrophotography two months prior to this eclipse, I'm quite proud of how well it turned out. No telescope, no tracking mount, no remote trigger. Just a DSLR, a 300mm lens, and a camera tripod.Camera: Canon EOS Rebel T6
