Silicon Graphics Octane 2 was an entry-level Unix workstation introduced in 1996 by Silicon Graphics, Inc. to replace their earlier Indy series. Like the Indy, the SGI Octane 2 used a single MIPS microprocessor and was intended to be used mainly for multimedia. Its larger counterpart was the Silicon Graphics Octane.Pixy Corporation are credited for work on Final Fantasy VIII, but none of the same staff worked on it. Akihiro Tsuchiya went on to work for Square Enix Visual Works for Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy IX. Masanori Ikeda and Jun Terai are both credited under DAAC Corporation in Final Fantasy VIII. 長澤 剛史
