Star fox has many games, but one thing that doesn't interest me is the fact they use the same villain over and over again. I'm mean we always fighting Andross, but one game shakes things up by bringing in the aparoids. If you have fear for bugs then you won't have a lovely time with the aparoids.

BackstoryBefore the events of Star Fox 64, the Corneria army is patrol the lylat System, when suddenly they see a giant winged aparoid. The monster bug destroy the entire fleet. The survivors were lucky to get through the trial but that was just a taste of what's coming.
Star Fox: AssaultSeventeen years later, the aparoids finally came back to finish what have they started with Lylat. A winged Aparoid killed Andrew and attack Star Fox. Of course Star Fox won quickly, but more aparoids are coming. Peppy one of the members of Star fox told Fox to get the core memory and get out of there.

General Pepper informs the Star Fox team that the Lylat system is in grave danger. He have Beltino Toad (Slippy's father) the commanding research director to brief them on the details of the aparoids. He then explains that he need a stronger core memory to find the aparoid's homeworld. General Pepper received a destress signal from their base on Katina, and send the Star fox team to find it where the signal is coming from.

When Fox McCloud goes to check out the base, it turns out it was taken over by the aparoids. Fox needs to defeat the aparoids to find the signal. After Fox destroyed a few aparoid soldiers with the landmaster, hatchers fall out of the sky and started to spawn more aparoids. After Fox destroy all of the hatchers, an aparoid Ship came down through a portal. Fox have to fight the tank and get the core memory inside. After they defeated the aparoid ship, Pigma came out of nowhere revealing him to be the one transmitting the SOS signal, and snatching the core memory. Peppy track Pigman on radar, but lost track.

With the help of their rivals Star Wolf, they learn that Pigma is on Fichina. When they arrive on the winter planet, they find out that Pigma has turn off the climate controlling device. Fox needs to destroy the shield generators to get inside, but the aparoids are guarding it. After Fox turn the climate controlling device back on, the aparoid infected sentry bots attack Fox. Fox manages to hold off until his friend Falco came in to save him. Fox fly on the left wing of Falco's arwing and fires at aparoids air fighters attacking on the ship. Then Slippy learns that the aparoids have the ability to infect machines, and Pigman is reveal to be the one controlling them. He used the core memory to turn a piece of the center's engineering into a weapon to destroy the planet climate controlling center for good. Fox attack the Aparoid cannon, and destroy it, but Pigma got away.

Meanwhile in Meteo, the aparoids are revealed for playing Pigma as a puppet. Star Fox find Pigma's location and fool him through the Meteo. They encounter aparoid space fighters in Meteo, including the prototype that Andrew use on Fortuna. They find Pigma's ship to be empty, and Pigma became an aparoid himself. He fused with an abandoned machine and attacks Star fox. But like the other aparoids, he was destroyed, and Star Fox got the core memory and they send it to General Pepper.

Little did anyone know that the aparoid queen was watching Star Fox sending the core to the Corneria command center. She cannot let her plans be ruined by those mercenaries. She learns that Corneria have an Allie planet called Sauria. She plans to distract Star Fox by attacking their dinosaurs friends on their homeplanet. Although the attack failed the aparoids manage to infiltrate Corneria's defences.

General Pepper send a stress call to the Star Fox team. The aparoids use their radar jammers to block the signal. Fox went down to the planet to destroy the jammers. Just as Fox done with the radar jammers and is about to jump in his Arwing, the aparoid destroy his ship and surrounded Fox. Luckily, he was saved by Star Wolf. For the first time ever, Star Fox and Star Wolf join for forces and fight off the aparoids. But the aparoids reveal their trump card. It was General Pepper under the control of the Aparoids. He commands that Star Fox destroy him to save him. Just as the ship about to crash, Peppa came in and save the general. But his aparoid infection spend onto Peppy.

When the Cornerians find the location of the homeworld, the queen know that they find her weakness. She ordered an attack to the gate. No gate means no invasion. She even sends missiles to destroy the gate. But Star Fox and Star Wolf destroy the missiles protecting the gate.

In the last-ditch effort, the queen summon every one of her aparoids to defend their homeworld. Star Fox destroy the shield generators and the hatchers along with them. But the shield turn on with the generators. But Peppy with Aparoid infection nearly complete, charges at the shield and destroy it. Star Fox was forced to move on without him. With the help of Star Wolf, they make through the aparoids guarding the queen. Star Wolf then risk their lives to protect their rivals. But the queen has one last trick up her sleeve. She mimic the voices of those infected by the aparoids, including Fox's father James McCloud. But Fox remembers Wolf's advice.
"Don't hesitate, when the time comes just act." -WolfFox ignores the voices and order an attack on the queen. After making an open for the Self-destruct program that Slippy's father made, Fox fires the program in the queen. But the Queen is suppressing it and tries to escape to create antibody to the program. But Star Fox chases after her and destroy her, activating the program. The destruction of the queen, have the other aparoids self-destruct as well, making them extinct and ending their conquest forever.

EpilogueBut that's not of their story. Because in my Rise of the aparoids series, parts of the queen escape the star fox dimension into new ones. Infecting them as well.
