My eyes are closed. My mind is empty. I am drifting and fading and falling in antipathy. Emotions and thoughts all vanish, and I am left a hollow shell. I wait for the cacophony to cease in the storming cavity in my skull, for sweet silence to envelope my whole being. This is it, I think, this is the end of me, and I'm okay with that; it'll all be over soon, and then I can live in apathetic peace forever. I hold my breath to see what comes next, but I expect nothing.
