Re-reading the series and decided to illustrate a ton of scenes and do some portraits. The first happens to be right near where I'm at in the third book. With the descriptions, I couldn't resist dumping chronological order and doing this scene first. Hallelujah for Corel, tablets, and layers lol. I did like 20 layers and that's without any owls or additional wolves!

"...the most spectacular time to arrive at the Ring was near twilight when the volcanoes often erupted, painting the fiery swathes of flame and plumes of ash against the purpling sky."

"The moon claw will be up soon."

"On the count of three, Faolan sprang. Burning embers whizzed by him and he could feel the heat of the flames from the volcano and smell the lava thick and boiling in the crater. Hot gusts brushed his pelt, and for a few seconds, he felt as if he were one with the sky-the stars, the moon, the racing clouds..."

Quotes are from Watch Wolf for description. The sky, moon phase, and volcano activity have actual accurate basis from the book. The characters are Faolan, Gwynneth, and Twist. Twist's bone necklace and twisted paw aren't visible because he isn't on the drumlyn (bone cairn).

If enough people suggest it, I might add some more owls and Watch wolves in the background.
