i thought for a moment,maybe more like ten months,
you could have been like me
always standing your ground
holding ideals high
being only yourself
in that, you could have been,
for even a moment,
different from all the rest
now, you're falling like the
cascade of your own life
into pattern, sameness
and there i stand, watching
knowing that all along
you would be just the same
