Mia grew up outside of Cligate in the agricultural areas of the city. She was a kid of divorced parents who ended up choosing to live with one parent over the other. Her parents separated when she was starting to enter her pre-teens and at first she went along with staying with the other parent every other week, before she decided to live with her father full time. Her mother ended up remarrying and having another child with her new husband. Mia had a fallout with her mother after the new baby's birth and she stopped talking with her completely soon after. It suited her just fine to not be a part of her mother's life anymore as she was always much closer with her father. Her father loved doting on Mia and showing her the world around them both. He had an extensive agricultural farm that featured everything from corn growing to raising cattle and together they worked on the farm up until the Stimulant Rush.

Her father is believed to have passed away in the Stimulant Rush, but Mia won't speak about his death. It's understood something very bad occurred.
