I wrote a long paragraph about the story behind the reason why I drew this and that I'm not trying to appropriate a culture other than my own but I accidentally refreshed the page and it all got lost and I simply don't want to type it all over again.

Basically, after drawing my latest Mother's Day card, I got more comfortable drawing characters from Astérix and felt like doing it again for my dad's birthday. I then decided to draw the totem from "La Grande Traversée" (The Great Crossing). It's one of the albums I've always liked. It's not perfect but what is? It's Astérix!
