Description
IMAGE SIZE IT BIG! So it may take awhile for it to load for some people.I just want to say don't use the base at the end of the tutorial to make a doll just yet. I'm going to be making more poses for it, so please be patient. The base will be released when the set is finished.
So here's the base tutorial
I know that in the poll, base tutorial came in second place but I thought that it would be a good idea to at least know how to make a tutorial first since I never made one before, so I used base tut. as a practice.
I don't know how I'm going to create a tutorial for a whole doll or if I'm ever going to get around to it. Someday...just someday I might.
But for now, your going to have to settle with the base tutorial.
Anyways, I hope that this tutorial at least helps out when creating bases. The layout of the tutorial is kind of plain and simple, but it's the information that is the most important
Tell me if you spot any problems with the tutorial or give me some C/C please

I learned this hand symbol back in elementary school
Uh...do I need to mature this?

Normally, the end result is saved as a .gif with a transparent background. When it comes to pixels, you should absolutely avoid saving your images as a .jpeg

It means 'rock on' when the thumb isn't sticking out like in the base.
Hand symbols get confusing sometime.

That hand symbols doesn't always have to worship the devil, it means "I love you" in American Sign Language too.

Excellent, tutorials are always a pain in the butt to make (I just finished a big one awhile ago myself, uggh -.-). I love your shading style and just how "different" your stuff looks from most doll art. While I don't generally go out of my way to make bases, I'm definitely favoriting this just 'cause

Thank you
I didn't find the tutorial that hard to do. The only time consuming part to me would be print screening/copying+pasting my steps, but putting it together was rather easy and fun. That's probably because I didn't try to make a "pretty" tutorial, just wanted to make one that was informative and easy for people to understand

Hah, well my tutorial I did looks like absolute crap as far as aesthetics go, so that wasn't my problem. Part of it was all the typing, and the other part was having to constantly save all my steps... that was annoying -.-

I found this unuseful. It tells you what to do, but it dosen't tell you HOW to do it.

I honestly don't see the point in adding to much detail to the skin, when people are supposed to draw over it and color it in. It just makes it more complicated. :/

Bases are artworks them selves, IMO. I create them and put just as much work and detail into them as I would a doll. Sure the body will be covered up and thus it may seem like a waste of time to put that much detail into it, but I don't think that's the case. To me, by adding that much detail into the bases, I learn a lot about how to shade the body which in turn helps me out when I want to shade the skin on my drawings/non-pixel artwork. Plus the base looks more completed when that much time and work has been put into it.
People have different shading preferences when it comes to bases, so if you want to create a base with 3~4 colors and not a whole lot of details, then go right ahead

well yeah, i guess if bases are the main thing you create, then yeah. lol.
