Making an attempt at improving some art foundations... scenery, perspective, and composition mostly.

Soo I decided to try to illustrate the gates of Death from the Old Kingdom series (Sabriel, Lirael, Abhorsen, etc). Specifically this is Sabriel opening the First Gate. Probably going to have to switch to Lirael eventually since I don't think we ever see Sabriel past the second or third gates in the books.

I have no idea whether or not this is any good, since I've never really done anything like this before, so constructive critique would be awesome.

Its not really meant to be a totally fleshed out illustration, just more like a concept sketch.
