Description
Set up as the major villain of the X-Treme X-Men, Vargas made his debut by beating Beast to a pulp and killing Psylocke. From there, Vargas continued to play with the mutants. He played Gambit in a card game that, if Gambit lost, he would die.

Using one of Destiny's journals that told the future, Vargas continued to attack the X-Men, nearly killing Rogue and Gambit in one battle. Vargas was later defeated by the X-Men before apparently being killed by Mister Sinister's Marauders in 2007's X-Men #202, though his fate remains uncertain.
