also me practicing more on just doing solely digital work, which I have to say I'm happy it came out

Orgins:
Unlike many other sentient beings and creatures that were created from gods or other beings. The gargoyles were created by a wizard named Elam Carver. A wizard who had specialized in earth sculpting. The magickal art of earth magick. Who nowadays is labeled official in the history books as the king of gargoyles.

Though during the time he lived during a time of warfare. So he originally created the stone like beings that could protect his home. Though, his first creatures had only worked as long as he controlled them. And even though yes they did exactly as they were told, that quickly became a problem for him. As they constantly need orders to do out a function.

This quickly wore down the wizard, as he cannot always puppet these stone creations and can only have so much magick to keep a constant flow. So he experimenting on his magick. Trying to create beings that had his sentience. Something that can act on its own, and has a continuous magickal enchantment that doesn't constantly derive from his own magick.

So with the combination of his specialty and dabbling in what would be rudimentary alchemy he had perfected a living stone being that can shift between flesh and stone. With an artificial heart that works under the veil of the night. Specifically the magickal radiation that emanates from the moon.
Something he had found better to work with then the sun. As the heart would burst from the intense energy of the sun.

Because of that the creatures will fall into a slumber and turned into solid stone during the day. And will regain flesh at night.

With this Elam had perfected a living and intelligent creatures, that are smart enough and strong enough to protect his territory.

Yet it was told that the wizard grew fond of his creatures. And slowly developed a familial bond with them. So much so it was recorded that in his life he had crafted 263 gargoyles. A number that grows as this practice was passed down between his many descendants.

Minor gargoyles types
With Elam Carver he was the sole person to created the orginal 9 lesser gargoyles. Each with their own unique abilities meant to be used to protect or attack. These are still wildly the most used and created by practitioners of this magick.

• Goliath-(Adrenaline): this gargoyles are very notable for the short horns, mild size ears, and a smooth head shape and snout. On top of their physical prowess compared to other minor and some major gargoyles that makes them better. They were created with a special man-made organ that supposed to be very similar to that of the adrenal gland. Something they can control on command to give a major in fighting.

• Pluvial-(Water): with this gargoyle their head are notable shaped as a bird. And a given abilities to produce water and manipulate it. Thanks to special artificial organ implanted I to these kinds. As well as being to manipulate any water that it's water had touched. Making them pretty dangerous during the rain.

• sang à l'intérieur-(Blood): with these gargoyles they're notable head shape are that of bats. These creatures have a unique ability of injecting poison into the targets, or drain blood out of those they bit. Any blood they drain is now something they can manipulate at will, being able to perform many hemocraft spells. Thanks to an elder witch who practiced in the magickal art of hemocraft. They taught Elam some of the secrets of this craft. To which this creature was given special glands and artificial nerves that gives these gargoyles these unique abilities.

• Mystics-(Magick): these gargoyles are notable for their head shape being similar to a dragons. As well as being able to perform minor magickal feats. Such as simple rudimentary spells. And many magickal energy manipulation. This feat is due to an artificial organ that similar to a wizard. Turning the magickal energy of the moonlight and raw magic that it can use.

• Morpheus-(Dream): these gargoyles are notable for their bicolor heads. And for their abilities over putting others to sleep. When Elam was creating a creature with this abilities, he had a lot of trouble considering the nature over dream magick. Though after a break through with the help with some of earlier creations. And using some rare materials, they created a gargoyles the can convert the magikal energy into abilities that can cause to fall asleep and hold those in a dream.

• Hive-(Swarm): with these gargoyles are very notable for their bull head shapes. Also their unique abilities of creating a swarm of stinging insects. That they can also control. The swarm they van create is based on what material was used in the creation of their organ that can create these insects.

• Bane-(Curse and blessing):
These gargoyles are very notable for not only their unique head shape. But also for their long body. Some with an untrained eye would confuse it for a major type gargoyles. The reason for its unusual shape is for the for the Carver to inscribe hidden glyphs throughout their body. The glyphs are allows them to perform the curses and blessing continuously without much problem. Something it uses to use to hurt invaders or attackers while helping their friends.

• Perfumer-(Breathing): these gargoyles are very notable for their very unique ear markings. Something that differentiate the head shape between them and the sang à l'intérieur types. What makes them special is that they were created with a special stomach that's highly acidic and break down many different materials it eats. Turning it into a gas. Which these gargoyles can breath for varying effects. Breath attacks is based on what it ate and took time concocting.

• Clear-(Fog and invisibility): these gargoyles are notable by their long head shapes and bumps in the back of their heads. When Elam had created these species he had a notable ability in mind. Given them a special artificial organ that allows them to produce an a thick fog that can cover a large area. While these gargoyles species are in the fog they also have another ability to become invisible while in the fog. Allow them to gain a edge on many intruders or attackers.
