It's not so much the wordswhen I'm scratching away
and I know everything
it certainly isn't
(trees and meditation
capers small fish gardens
lies or explanations)
I'm not exactly after the sounds of birds
or the way an evening breeze (and it's leaves) sway
I'm sick of writing things I've heard pop star monkeys sing
the truth is it's hard to hold the pen with so much crap
(and this might be idle thought but
I think that there are answers to be taught)
It's not so much the words I write
as all the family I'd like to have
