Description
Razor bladeI am in the old man's hands as he slits
the sides of envelopes and stacks them
old friends and bills alike.
In his daughter's
when she shaves her long
legs from ankle up to the top of her hips.
Her husband when he lathers up
and and scrapes clean
his face in the mirror.
Their daughter when she turns on the water
and opens the veins beneath her wrist
and slips into the shower.
I am simplicity itself
in human urges
taken to perfection, knowing nothing
on my edge but sharp and shine.

I like that youve taken an overused topic that tends to have long and terribly written poems about suicide with overused words and created something that like you said is almost lame but I think is saved by the last stanza and ends up being good and well written

Damn. i really like how u easily slip into the different persons of each character in this poem, each has a totally different feeling assocated and the end stanza seems to sum it up perfectly, those various uses for such a simple symbol that usually comes attached with a stigma. Title: razor blade? oh this is about suicideand teenage angst..yet it is and its not at the same time, its about something bigger and i liked that. nice work.
