Description
The three swords found in the troll-hoard in the beginning of The Hobbit: Galmdring, Sting, and Orcrist.
For all of these swords, I wanted to maintain some of the Early Medieval flare that Tolkien had in mind for Middle-Earth, with some fantasy twists.

Glamdring ended up being a cross between a richly decorated Migration Era Germanic sword and an ancient Greek Xiphos. The leaf-blade really appealed to me, and it was fun to mix the two very different styles into one sword.
Fairly recently, a friend of mine mentioned that he'd always thought of Sting as a seax knife. I figured, why not? It's a war-knife for an elf, and a perfectly respectable short sword in the hands of a hobbit.
With Orcrist, I continued the mix of Germanic and Hellenic styles, this time using a Greek Kopis as a base. The Orcrist shown in Jackson's movies was cool, and in order to keep in line with all the good-guys in Tolkien's work wielding straight swords, I made the spine of the kopis straight instead of curved forwards.
