Dain was still a teenager by dwarven standards when their small clan living in the northern mountains was attacked by orcs and completely ruined. Few dwarfs managed to survive, and Dain was among these miserable persons. His father taught him blacksmithing, and his grandfather instructed him in the art of war, but Dain never managed to become a great craftsman, but he learned to forge battle axes and armor perfectly.

He traveled with various adventurers, guarded caravans, worked part-time in a blacksmith shop, generally engaged in a variety of employment cases, trying to find out along the way what happened to the remaining members of his clan and whether it was possible to collect them again.

He is looking for an opportunity to avenge his destroyed home and murdered relatives, but realizes that the time has not come yet. He needs to gather a really strong clan, or enlist the support of powerful friends. In the meantime, he wanders around the world and is ready to do any good work that would not discredit the honor of a real dwarf, and could help in the implementation of his mission. A warrior for hire in the company of adventurers is a great opportunity, according to Dain.
