(That means you, friends who have beaten the game already! >8C ) I finished the game, but I'll just say it for the safety of those who haven't played the games.

I'll admit I had to do a little Googling to connect all the dots about Professor Layton, but once I understood the homage I loved what I saw. You do love those DS games, don't you?
After perusing the official sites, it became clear just how perfectly you nailed the game's art style. In fact the only clue that this isn't official artwork is your more advanced shading system. But the characters you depict here are instantly recognizable without any real effort or mental adjustment, You give the characters more of a rounded sheen that makes them look less like cardboard cutouts, makes them rise off the page. I also note at least two light sources. Man, I wish I could master that. -_-
It has to be said, you also did a great job pastich'ing the Back to the Future poster that you so aptly chose to base your comp on. Very fitting, but also perfectly recognizable. I like the 3-quarters perspective on the car, too. Lots of care taken with that, and with the shading of its chasis. But are those wheels supposed to be like five inches tall..? o.0

Oh yes. I do love my DS games seeing how it's my current biggest collection of video games I've ever owned on my own. ^_^;; Especially the games that start with the letter P. (Professor Layton, Pokemon, Phoenix Wright, Puzzle Quest.....)
Erm. I guess I still need to work on perspective. XD The car definitely took me the longest since I am not a fan of drawing...cars. Ironic because I was really good at mechanical drawing in middle-high school.
