There is a show called "Puella Magi Madoka Magica" (hereafter "Madoka"). It won all the awards for being basically the best thing made in Japan since Spirited Away. The cute adorable mascot character is a white creature named Kyubey, with floppy ears coming out of his pointy ears. Critic Charles Sonnenberg (of sfdebris.com) called Kyubey a "bunnycat" but here he is rendered as a "bunnyfox".
Madoka looks like a cute adorable heartwarming show that is about the true meaning of friendship and targeted at middle-school girls. It is not. It is a heartwarming, dark and depraved deconstruction of the magical girl genre that is about the true meaning of friendship -- YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUE MEANING OF FRIENDSHIP. PRAY TO YOUR GOD, MORTAL, THAT YOU SHOULD NOT BE PUT TO THE TEST -- and targeted at roughly the same demographic who watches cyberpunk crime thrillers like "Psycho Pass" (which is by the same writer).
In particular, Kyubey is not strictly speaking "evil", however, he is amoral and his interests are poorly aligned with the main characters' interests, so he is functionally evil, promising young emotionally-vulnerable girls happiness hope but leading them to death and doom.
You should watch it, even though you know too much already. It has almost as many plot twists as Memento, which is why it's great even if you know a little bit about the conflict already.

Aaaaaaactually, I'd really recommend watching it on CrunchyRoll, Hulu, or Netflix. Anime loses a lot of money because people would rather use illegal streaming sites than legal ones. (CR has it for free, and I think Hulu does too, so it's not like it costs you anything.)
