Description This year (2023) Street Fighter 6 came out so I'm here to share my 2 cents.
I haven't played SF6 yet.
I heard the rumors that it's going to be open world, and that you can design and develop your character and that character can go train with legends of the game such as Ryu.
I don't think that is what we got, from what I've seen, they didn't deliver what they promised so I'm not really happy with it.

Yes characters are super important, I think they made popular looking characters, but at the end of the day this is a fighting game, they need to look like fighters, because if they don't, it will take me out of the game and I won't feel like I'm in a real fight.
Does it make you feel like you are a martial arts master or professional fighter with high level moves?
Do you feel like you are engaged in battle with another dangerous expert that can destroy you?

The biggest problem that I have with these games is that all the fighting moves are centered around the so called special moves such as the Hadouken, Shoryuken, and Tatsumaki Senpuukyaku.

What happens if we took away the super human unrealistic jumping and projectile moves away?
Is it still fun?

I also really dislike it when they introduce weapons into a bare handed fighting contest.

But then again I don't want the game to turn into one of those UFC games either.

The original roster:

Masaaki Kakuda
I think he is based off of two actual Karate champions.
Masaaki Satake and Nobuaki Kakuda.

Zhi-Li
Daughter of Gen who was a Chinese Kung Fu style master and an assassin.
Which is very interesting.
She could have been a little bit evil or her skills are evil.
Original notes said that she would use her hair to fight, that reminds me of the old Kung Fu flick in which a woman with long white hair did the same thing, if I'm not mistaken, she was a demon woman, or wolf woman, who fought with her hair.. my memory of this is very hazy.

Bunbobo
I'm assuming a Korean fighter that uses Tae Kwon Do.
The notes say that he uses his legs to fight.

Dick Jumpsey
Like Balrog who is clearly based off of Mike Tyson, this is guy is based off of Boxing legend Jack Dempsey.
This for me brings a little bit of reality to the game because it gives me grounds to compare things to.
Someone like this who actually existed, versus an imaginary character.
Without this person we wouldn't be able to say how strong the imaginary character is in real life.
In Street Fighter II, we can say that Ryu is someone that would have a chance against Mike Tyson, but Mike Tyson is also very formidable in fact he is one of the bosses of the game.
So then we know how good Ryu is, if not Ryu would be like a Dragon Ball character or someone who could take on an entire army by himself.
Too much in fantasy and no grounds of reality.

Tahir Meyer
The masked fighter who looks like a Lucha Libre stylist.
The notes say that he is Strong style.
Strong style is what legendary Japanese Prowrestler Antonio Inoki called his style of Prowrestling.
One of his top students was Tiger Mask.
Which leads me to believe that this character is based off of Tiger Mask.
Some hardcore Prowrestling fans will argue that Tiger Mask is the greatest of all time, I tend to agree.
What made Tiger Mask the great though was that he used multiple styles.
Strong Style, Lucha Libre style, and Lancashire style that I know of.

Shilke Muller
A soldier that brings in Special Forces hand to hand combat skills.
It says that he can read your moves.
I'm assuming this is an exaggeration of a Green Beret being very good at predicting the opponent's moves when coming up with combat strategies.

The Great Tiger
Obviously a fighter from India that would bring an exotic form of fighting to the table.
Original notes say that he can double jump.
The physical abilities of a fighter from India can be impressive because of their old school conditioning.
A body like rubber, agile, flexible, yet strong.

Anabebe
Raised by animals in the jungle this fighter would have the ultimate in physical attributes.
Some Pro Wrestlers back in the day played this kind of animalistic human, the character of Tarzan would be the most civilized and heroic one, but there were others that made great heels.
I wonder also because if a human fought an animal they would pretty much lose pound for pound to anything.
So here is something that is more on the animal side to play a boss type of character.
