Manuel: A lute-player from Spain who was visiting when the curse hit him. Now he has been turned into a lute, and likes playing himself.
Lan: A night watchman who was transformed into a lantern. He has a very bright personality.
Maggie: An inspector who would inspect the quality of jewels and coins. She was turned into a magnifying glass, and is still employed to search for things around the castle.
Sullivan Shumacher: A shoemaker who was transformed into a shoemaker's last. He likes his job as a shoemaker because it pays well.
Arlo: an accountant transformed into an abacus. He is an expert at calculations and math.
Maria: A puppeteer who was transformed into a puppet theater. She enjoys creating stories to entertain people with puppets.
