Description

Prior to the first European settlements, the region which would become the United States of America had been inhabited by a mosaic of indigenous peoples. Ranging from numerous dialects, governmental organization, faith beliefs, and even phenotypical appearances, the various peoples native to the continent were as varied as the nations of Eurasia and Africa. Many of these peoples however were subjected to near annihilation as the United States expanded across the continent, though these languages and peoples remain a small minority in comparison to the European community, the near eradication of the natives has wrought an untold cultural loss for the continent.
