Brock Rumlow is kind of a piece of crap. From violent street gang member as teenager, to being trained by supervillain mentor, The Taskmaster, then onto the life of a mercenary and assassin, he eventually ended up impressing The Red Skull, who hired him on as righthand henchman and renamed Rumlow "Crossbones." Get it? "Skull & Crossbones." See? Even Nazis like cute puns.
And ever after that he served the Red Skull, doing the dirtiest of his dirty work, often coming into conflict with Captain America. Like, a lot.
He's a sadistic monster, but also a total bad ass, so you wanna hate him, but he's a pretty awesome super villain, to be honest.
