Patsy Walker was the star of a romance/comedy comic. Somehow later she ended up hanging out with The Beast. Because, as usual: comics are bonkers.
But wait, she blackmailed Beast into letting her learn the ropes of the superhero biz. When he joins the Avengers, she tags along.
Weirdly they had the costume of another hero that they thought disappeared, named The Cat, just laying around. So to recap: the Avengers gave Patsy, a normal, relatively untrained girl, the clothes of a random superhero they didn't even know, but thought was dead. So weird.
Anyway, Patsy became Hellcat. Then later she LITERALLY MARRIES THE SON OF SATAN. THE ACTUAL SATAN.
COMICS ARE BONKERS.
